Festive Ale Focus: Inspired by the festive ale series, I picked up a handful of holiday ales today. I won’t mention price, because where I live in the People’s Republic of Maryland everything is over priced. Especially after the state added 10% to the tax on alcholic beverages.
I think I’ve had Harvey’s Christmas Ale in the past, and it’s no surprise that I don’t remember it. It’s a strong malty tasting ale, with a stong fruit (figs?) flavor. The flavors don’t really go together well. It also poured kind of flat. The one thing it has going for it is the 8.1 ABV. I won’t be purchasing this again, unless I once again forget how much I don’t like it.
